Time for Main Stream Muslims to Speak Out Against Jihad

Hinting at who was responsible, he followed his welcome for a statement by the Muslim Council of Great Britain condemning the terrorist acts, by saying: "We know that these people act in the name of Islam but we also know that the vast and overwhelming majority of Muslims here and abroad are decent and law-abiding people who abhor those who do this every bit as much as we do".

It is time for leaders of the Muslim faith to speak out against terror and say "we do not support Jihad." By publicly speaking out, they show us that they are not a part of these acts. They show the world that this is not their faith.

When Cat Stevens was turned away last year at an American Airport, many American Muslims were demonstrating in Washington. Where are these same Muslims when Iraqi children get blown up for receiving candy from troops, when a bomb goes off in a tube. It is time for us to be able to turn on the news and see Muslim leaders standing up for the freedom they have in America and England, and speaking out against terrorists acts. THERE ARE NO EXCUSES. Our presence in the middle east IS NOT AN EXCUSE for terrorist attacks. Our presence in the middle east is our response for terror attacks. These moderate Muslims should be fighting this war with the same vigor as we. It only makes sense.

The Muslim communities in England and America have been, in my opinion, a tad too quiet.

A comparison By Christopher Dickey Newsweek yesterday,"Untrue Believers" between Eric Rudolph and your post seems relevant to me. Although Dickey leaves us with a more than slight bias toward pro choice, he points out the similarity between terrorists.
"Terrorists are very righteous folks. Which is why the real global war we’re fighting, let’s be absolutely clear, should be one of our shared humanity against the madness of people like these."
The majority of right to life folks condemned the bombings immediately. None, that I'm aware of, have defended Rudolph's terrorism or are calling for his release. Murder of innocence is madness. No matter who does it or for what reason, real or imagined. That's the Christian position on murder. Christians have spoken out, and that is very clear.
Muslims around the world must unite and "SPEAK OUT" against murder of innocent people. They must take up arms against murders or be considered accomplices.

I don't care what nationality, religion, color, etc. Instilling fear, strapping on bombs, blowing things up, cutting off heads, gassing people, cutting a check for someone else to gas people or blow themselves up with the intention of hurting others, is TERRORISM.
