Judge Roberts Deserves an Up or Down Vote! LET THE GAMES BEGIN

Los Angeles Times: "Although Some Liberal Interest Groups Rushed To Portray Roberts As A Dangerous Extremist, His Nomination Seems To Signal A Desire On The Part Of The White House To Avoid A Nasty Confirmation Battle." (Editorial, "A Judicious Choice," Los Angeles Times, 7/20/05)

Los Angeles Times: "He Has A Sterling Record In Washington As A Litigator, Appearing Before The Supreme Court 39 Times Over More Than A Decade, And Few He Has Encountered Have Anything Bad To Say About Him; Even Legal Adversaries Such As Walter Dellinger, A Solicitor General In The Clinton Administration, Praise Him." (Editorial, "A Judicious Choice," Los Angeles Times, 7/20/05)

Los Angeles Times: "[R]oberts Has A Temperament That May Encourage A Smooth Confirmation Process. There Is Every Reason To Expect That He Will Receive An Up-Or-Down Vote, As He Deserves, By The Time The Court Reconvenes In The Fall." (Editorial, "A Judicious Choice," Los Angeles Times, 7/20/05)

With all the praise for Roberts, it would be ashame to see a Kennedy, Reid, or Schumer interrogate him at the hearings as if he were a criminal. It is time for the Senate to greet nominees, judicial, UN, etc., with the respect that their lives deserve. It is okay to disagree, it is not okay to be rude and grandstand turning the process into a circus. I will never forget how they interrogated Rice and Rummie during the 9/ll hearings. A TOTAL LACK OF MANNERS, RESPECT, AND SELF CONTROL.

Roberts is an outstanding choice...The Dem's would be best suited to just give him a vote and get it over with....

Rogers was a brilliant choice by President Bush, and Roberts is a brilliant lawyer for our Supreme Court. He comes from conserative roots; but will he remain conserative after swearing in remains to be seen. We wish him well in the hearing and the confirmation. The country is watching.

I was goning to say, your blog looks politically motivated by the Nazi's on the right and lo and behold...RNC link...Do any of you think without the RNC daily "talking points"? It's incredible to watch them repeat the same crap with that empty headed GWBush "I'm not home" exression as gospel. For being such "religious fanatics" and I use "religious" lighty, you would think they would use the brain that God gave them, but apparently there is a disconnect between thinking and cowering in fear. Jesus would not approve! Well, bring the country to it's knees RNC...You're playing into the Holy War that Islam wanted. This evil administration will be villified in the annals of history. This country's sanity will be questioned by future generations to come. There will be two questions. 1) How did the Nazi's fools so many of their own reasonable citizens into their atrocities agains man? and 2) How did the Republicans fool so many of their own reasonable citizens into their atrocities agains man? ciao.

wow anon! Heavy! Actually, Republican talking points are much better than Democratic Shouting Points. Easier on the ears.

Yes, I am a Republican. By Choice!
I see you are from the Party that always uses Hitler as a symbol. LOL.

To tell you the truth, I really don't know why so many people start swearing and talking so rudely, over a bunch of white christians, who all look alike (Dean's description), we REALLY AREN'T THAT SCAREY!

We just know what's RIGHT!

anonymous, I am amazed how many Democrats use the word "Nazi" when commenting on Repubican activities.

You are fighting the wrong war. If you took your energy and fought the real enemy, terrorism, the world may be better served.

by the way, the GOP "talking points" come from the people, and represent the membership. Mehlman has done a wonderful job at knowing his party and their desires. Unlike the Democratic counterpart, Dean, now his shouting points come from his ego backed by Soros!
