Day Oh! Slave Oh! Daylight Come, and Harry Got's It All Wrong
Come Mr. Harry, tally up those slanders. While in Cuba approximately 3 years ago, Harry was quoted as saying, "There's an old saying," Belafonte began. "In the days of slavery, there were those slaves who lived on the plantation and were those slaves that lived in the house. You got the privilege of living in the house if you served the master... exactly the way the master intended to have you serve him. "Colin Powell's committed to come into the house of the master. When Colin Powell dares to suggest something other than what the master wants to hear, he will be turned back out to pasture." For close to twenty minutes, Belafonte ripped the entire Bush administration, including an attack on Attorney General John Ashcroft. "There's something wrong with men who think the way Ashcroft does and who manipulate the justice system the way he does."Quick get the tally man! How many black activists are going to take us back to the times of slavery and civil rights protests? Spouting off in Cuba yet, now there's an audience!
I aplogize to Ms. Rice and Mr. Powell for the rude comments made by Mr. Belefonte. Personally, these are two people I look up to, and would be proud for my son to call them a role model. Both of them are prime examples of what education, hard work, and setting goals can get you in life.
So Mr. Belefonte, you have won my LOSER OF THE WEEK, NO MAKE THAT THE MONTH, NO HOW ABOUT A YEAR, AWARD!
By the way, I threw away all your old records I had sitting in a box! The only comfort I have in all of this, is nobody is really paying you any attention. Our people are very well educated now, so spout off if you must, and keep singing, "Come back, Liza, come back girl..........................wipe de tear from de eye"
Leaves me to believe that any black that strays from Harry's Political Liberal Plantation will get a verbal whipping for misbehavior!
