The situation in Iraq is not a case of winning or losing. It's too complex to see it in such black and white terms. Our continued presence in Iraq will only augment our problems. The Iraqis refuse to take their government seriously because they know it is being propped up by the United States. Until they see an Iraq being led by Iraqis, then, and only then, will they begin to construct a stable society.

They do take their government seriously. Thousands of Iraqi's have died for freedom.

Yes, Iraq will do better when we leave, but it must be the proper time, so they have the ability to stand up to the insurgents.
