He can't be much worse than Georgie Boy and Shooter. Dig this:
The latest CBS News poll finds President Bush's approval rating has fallen to an all-time low of 34 percent, while pessimism about the Iraq war has risen to a new high.
In a bright spot for the administration, most Americans appeared to have heard enough about Vice President Dick Cheney's hunting accident.
More then three in four said it was understandable that the accident had occurred and two-thirds said the media had spent too much time covering the story.
Still, the incident appears to have made the public's already negative view of Cheney a more so. Just 18 percent said they had a favorable view of the vice president, down from 23 percent in January.
ya polls go up and down...
I'll wait for the poll numbers in October/November then we will talk:)
Asked if I was peachy keen about all that Bush does......I'd give him a negative rating too; he's spends too much, doesn't communicate too well, and drops the ball on some of the issues that I would like to see acted upon; Fair Tax, Social Security Reform, less government spending
BUT.........He was and still is the best candidate that this country put up for Presidential election......and if that question was a poll; I do believe you would see great support for Bush.
That is the saddest thing I've read in a while. This country has millions of people, many of whom are better qualified to run this great country. The sad part is that the two idiot parties only give two chumps to choose from.
On a side note, have any of you seen or heard about the movie Why We Fight? It looks like a must-see for all Americans. Those who forget about history are doomed to repeat it. Check for it online.
I agree with Frontal; George Will is one of the few actual conservatives who seems to speak honestly, not simply trying to justify the actions of this administration and congress like so many other right-wing pundits. It's amazing how far we've allowed our party to go down the road of deception just to drum up support for this non-conservative president. If a Dem gets into office next, it will be very hard to try to hold his/her feet to the fire on any issue, as we have slowly lost any credibility or integrity that we once had.
Any thoughts?
George Allen has been frontrunner for some time in the Conservative Corner. Time will tell if he has what it takes to run for this thankless job.
from the 6/4/1940 speech:
We shall not flag nor fail. We shall go on to the end. We shall fight in France and on the seas and oceans; we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air. We shall defend our island whatever the cost may be; we shall fight on beaches, landing grounds, in fields, in streets and on the hills. We shall never surrender and even if, which I do not for the moment believe, this island or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the British Fleet, will carry on the struggle until in God's good time the New World with all its power and might, sets forth to the liberation and rescue of the Old. .
ya i agree with that completely..again George Will puts the zing in the last paragraph
so true Mooser......if they had a poll that asked........would you vote for Kerry or Bush if you had to do it all over again......I'm sure Bush would still win!
