A 'SNIP' from an Opinion Piece at Investors Daily, "War In Context"

"The other camp, which seems to include most Democrats and some poll-haunted Republicans, talks as if defeat would be a major blow to Bush but not to America. It roots against the president, treating failure in Iraq as a suitable price to pay for political victory.
They rationalize their cynicism with naivete, arguing against the evidence that Iraq would be less violent and strife-torn if the U.S. were gone. Our hope is that the more they argue with the president, the more the public will see through them."
I am very discouraged at the American public's lack of support for the war on terrorism..........also at the lack of GOP support for the fight of our lives....... The political game has been the focus - with a majority so willing to wave the white flag.
What will it take to wake up America to the importance of defeating and conquering terroristic peoples? Hint: Not the likes of Pelosi, Reid, Voinovich (just to name a few).........Losin Iraq to neighboring countries who support terroristic acts against the United States.....is an open invitation to terrorists wishing to do us harm......

we have to win this one!
Shit yeah
This war in Iraq could have been won at the beginning, if Bush had enough wisdom to listen to the people who were telling him to send in hundreds of thousands of troops from the very beginning. As I remember it, General Shinseki suggesting sending in “several hundred thousand” troops to protect the borders, find and protect the WMDs (remember when it wasn’t just about freedom being on the march), securing the streets…you, to win the war. But what happened to him? He was fired. Apparently, this president values the opinions of people like William Kristol more, who along with Rummy suggested going in on the cheap.
Everything about the war in Iraq has been bungled by this administration, yet you give them all the credit in the world for “supporting the troops and the war on terrorism”. That is why you are an idiot. You give the one guy who made all of those decisions a free pass. Now that the war is screwed up beyond belief, and people don’t want more troops to die needlessly, you call them out for being weak on the war on terror. Perfect.
What about Pakistan? They seem to be harboring a slew of terrorists, but W will do nothing about it. What ever happened to “you’re either with us or against us”? How about, “if you give terrorists safe harbor, you are against us”? Who do you blame for that?
Your fair President Bush lost this war in Iraq. Even now serving Generals are saying that this “surge” is too little, too late. Why do you not listen to them? Are you so concerned for this president’s legacy that it matters nothing to you how many more troops are killed to save it?
Pull your head out of your ass, Maddie. The Emperor Wears No Clothes.
