""You can't back down. You can't chicken out. You can't be afraid. You got to have faith in Allah, and you've got to stand up and be a real Muslim," Detroit native Keith Ellison said to loud applause.

Many in the crowd replied "Allahu akbar" -- God is great......Ellison, a Minnesota Democrat elected to the U.S. House in November, has been the center of a national debate in recent weeks over Islam and its role in politics. "

"But Ellison, speaking at the annual convention of the Muslim American Society and the Islamic Circle of North America, said that Muslims can help teach America about justice and equal protection."

SHOULD BE AN INTERESTING 2007......

TEACH US WHAT? HATE, ............EQUAL PROTECTION? PERHAPS THEY SHOULD ASK THE JEWS ABOUT EQUAL PROTECTION.......JUSTICE? SUNNY OR SHIITE? ASK THE BUDDHISTS ABOUT THEIR JUDICIAL BELIEFS........AND WOMEN............EQUAL RIGHTS......NOT UNDER MOSLEM LAWS.........

DUMB AND DUMBER

This goes to both sides of the aisle. GO TAKE SOME CONTINUING EDUCATION CLASSES!

For the Senate and House Committees, Democrat/Republican alike to have the gall to question the likes of Richard Bolton, Supreme Court Nominees, Donald Rumsfeld with total arrogance, ignorance, and lack of respect.......(excuse me, I don't think they ever gave John Bolton a chance to be questioned (probably too intimidating)) when they know very little of what they speak ..... is a total joke. Their circus act of power has always nauseated me. I am ashamed of the way they grandstand, puffing their feathers with every breath, trying to make themselves appear more intelligent than the questioned. Like the way Kennedy questioned Alito LOL! Hello? The man in a drunken stupor, kills a woman.......then has the nerve to sit on a judicial committee?

Then there is the Jeff Stein interview with Congressman Reyes (incoming Chairman of the House Intelligence Company.....

"And Hezbollah? I asked him. What are they?

Hezbollah. Uh, Hezbollah...
He laughed again, shifting in his seat.

Why do you ask me these questions at five o’clock? Can I answer in Spanish? Do you speak Spanish?

Poquito, I said—a little.

Poquito?! He laughed again.

Go ahead, I said, talk to me about Sunnis and Shia in Spanish.

Reyes: Well, I, uh....

I apologized for putting him on the spot a little. But I reminded him that the people who have killed thousands of Americans on U.S. soil and in the Middle East have been front page news for a long time now.

It's been 23 years since a Hezbollah suicide bomber killed over 200 U.S. military personnel in Beirut, mostly Marines.

Hezbollah, a creature of Iran, is close to taking over in Lebanon. Reports say they are helping train Iraqi Shiites to kispiralingin the spiralling civil war.

Yeah, Reyes said, rightly observing, but . . . it's not like the Hatfields and the McCoys. It's a heck of a lot more complex."

NOW..........FOR MY LIBERAL FRIENDS...........IT'S JUST AS BAD ON THE REPUBLICAN SIDE....

Trent Lott.....responding to Jeff Stein
Why do they kill people of other religions because of religion? wondered Lott, a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, after a meeting with Bush.

Why do they hate the Israelis and despise their right to exist? Why do they hate each other? Why do Sunnis kill Shiites? How do they tell the difference?

They all look the same to me, Lott said. "

I think there needs to be a test giving to people serving on committees - or for that matter.....all politicans should be able to pass a test in order to run for office.

America's politicans are a real dumbed down bunch of clowns. Just as highschoolers must take the SAT............Politicans should be tested on Governmental protocol, foreign affairs, American History, and accounting.

Perhaps then, America would get a politican who actually is informed on the topic at hand. Money would no longer be the #1 driving factor in an election.......test scores would. There would be no more long drawn out campaignes, because the politicans would be too busy studying. Then, they might even make some informed decisions, instead of decision based on their party's talking points.

MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO For AL Gore

By Geoffrey Lean, Environment Editor
Published: 10 December 2006
Meet the world's top destroyer of the environment. It is not the car, or the plane,or even George Bush: it is the cow.

A United Nations report has identified the world's rapidly growing herds of cattle as the greatest threat to the climate, forests and wildlife. And they are blamed for a host of other environmental crimes, from acid rain to the introduction of alien species, from producing deserts to creating dead zones in the oceans, from poisoning rivers and drinking water to destroying coral reefs.

The 400-page report by the Food and Agricultural Organisation, entitled Livestock's Long Shadow, also surveys the damage done by sheep, chickens, pigs and goats. But in almost every case, the world's 1.5 billion cattle are most to blame. Livestock are responsible for 18 per cent of the greenhouse gases that cause global warming, more than cars, planes and all other forms of transport put together.

Burning fuel to produce fertiliser to grow feed, to produce meat and to transport it - and clearing vegetation for grazing - produces 9 per cent of all emissions of carbon dioxide, the most common greenhouse gas. And their wind and manure emit more than one third of emissions of another, methane, which warms the world 20 times faster than carbon dioxide.

Livestock also produces more than 100 other polluting gases, including more than two-thirds of the world's emissions of ammonia, one of the main causes of acid rain.

Ranching, the report adds, is "the major driver of deforestation" worldwide, and overgrazing is turning a fifth of all pastures and ranges into desert.Cows also soak up vast amounts of water: it takes a staggering 990 litres of water to produce one litre of milk.

Wastes from feedlots and fertilisers used to grow their feed overnourish water, causing weeds to choke all other life. And the pesticides, antibiotics and hormones used to treat them get into drinking water and endanger human health.

The pollution washes down to the sea, killing coral reefs and creating "dead zones" devoid of life. One is up to 21,000sqkm, in the Gulf of Mexico, where much of the waste from US beef production is carried down the Mississippi.

The report concludes that, unless drastic changes are made, the massive damage done by livestock will more than double by 2050, as demand for meat increases.

Can it be true? Are more Americans murdered each year by illegal aliens than have died in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan combined?

You read that right. According to Rep. Steve King of Iowa:

12 Americans are murdered every day by illegal aliens.

Add it up. That's 4,380 per year! That's more than 21,900 murders by illegal aliens since September 11, 2001.

And that's not all. According to the same report, 13 people per day are killed by illegal alien drunk drivers.

That's an additional 4,745 premature deaths per year.

And liberals try to tell you that Iraq is a "quagmire."

If that still isn't enough to sicken you, King also reports that eight American children are molested by illegal aliens every day.

That's 2,920 innocent children annually whose lives are ruined each year -- by scum who wouldn't be prowling for American kids if the federal government enforced our immigration laws.

Yet, according to a recent front page story in the Washington Times, "Congress will approve an immigration bill that will grant citizenship rights to 20 million illegal aliens in the U.S. after Democrats take control next month."

We need to grab all 49 Republican senators by their lapels, shake them until their eyeballs rattle, and say through clenched teeth: SENATORS, NO AMNESTY FOR ILLEGALS, PERIOD!

Your willingness to fight, to make your voice heard together with millions of other concerned Americans has beaten numerous amnesty proposals this year.

And it's apparent that the Congressional leadership did not get the message on November 7. We must ramp up the pressure now. We must tell the incoming Congress in no uncertain terms that Americans will not stand for amnesty for 12 to 20 millions illegal aliens.

Don't let pro-Amnesty Senators thumb their noses at the American people.

Use the hyperlink below to send a message to President Bush and the 49 GOP Senators of the new minority party. Remind them how they got there -- by being two-faced and duplicitous when it came to granting amnesty to over 12 million illegal aliens.

But also remind them that it only takes 40 Senators to STOP ANY LEGISLATION FROM EVER SEEING THE LIGHT OF DAY!

Tell them conservative Americans will not tolerate a go-along-to-get-along attitude. Remind them that when liberals were in the minority, they bit off ears, and gouged eyes and bloodied noses to stop legislation.

Demand that Republicans hang just as tough for the next two years and tell them that they must block any amnesty for illegal aliens.

A Stroll Down Memory Lane

Don't forget that Republicans in the Senate were hot to trot on amnesty when they were still in the majority. But they winked and wiggled and waffled when it came to building the 700-mile fence.

Instead, they promoted what they called "Comprehensive Immigration Reform" -- code words for "Come on over, the water's fine."

When it was obvious that a huge majority of the people wanted that fence -- and wanted it yesterday -- the Senate passed a bill authorizing $1.2 billion to construct it, and Americans heaved a sigh of relief...

... prematurely.

Because our lawmakers also gave themselves plenty of loopholes THAT ENSURED THE FENCE WOULD NEVER BE BUILT -- loopholes that would have ensured that the lion's share of the $1.2 billion could be spent on roads, technology and "tactical infrastructure."

They told each other that folks like you and me would never know, that we'd sit back in silence while they threw up a few miles of fence and plowed the rest of the $ 1.2 billion into welcome wagons for illegal aliens.

But they were wrong!

We got wind of this sickening deception, told you that this bill had more loopholes than a fat lady's corset, and within hours faxes in Senate offices began to spit out angry messages from conservatives.

And when Senators saw tons of your faxes coming through, they introduced yet another bill -- one with teeth in it -- and it passed by a lopsided majority.

My point: Show them your muscle -- show them you know the score -- and they'll listen.

Feel sorry for them... give in to their pleas... don't hold their feet to the fire... and amnesty will be the law of the land.

It's Time Real America Stood Up - or we just may get European Socialist America

OPORTO, Portugal (Reuters) - European Socialists promised on Thursday to work to rebuild Europe's strategic alliance with the United States now that the Democrats control Congress after last month's elections.

Socialist leaders attending a meeting of the European Socialist Party pledged that with the Democrats on the rise, strong ties could be renewed with the United States after years of cool relations with Republican President George W. Bush.

Howard Dean, chairman of the national committee of the U.S. Democratic Party, is attending the two-day conference together with the leaders of leftist governments of several countries and party leaders from across Europe.

"We are not anti-American, we want the real America, your America," former Danish Prime Minister Poul Nyrup Rasmussen, president of the European Socialist Party, said in remarks directed at Dean.

The real America? What weak and struggling like the socialist European countries?

Peanut President is Nuts

From the article: /snip/ Carter's book on the Middle East, a title too inflammatory to even print, is not based on unvarnished analyses; it is replete with factual errors, copied materials not cited, superficialities, glaring omissions, and simply invented segments. Aside from the one-sided nature of the book, meant to provoke, there are recollections cited from meetings where I was the third person in the room, and my notes of those meetings show little similarity to points claimed in the book. Being a former President does not give one a unique privilege to invent information or to unpack it with cuts, deftly slanted to provide a particular outlook /snip/

A reader writes that he received the email message below sent by Professor Kenneth Stein of Emory University and the Carter Center. Professor Stein's expertise lies in the history of the Arab-Israeli conflict. Our reader writes that when he was an undergraduate student at Emory in the mid-1990's, Professor Stein was one of the most revered, respected professors on campus, and that Professor Stein had a long-standing association with the Carter Center in his capacity as an expert in Middle East politics and history. Professor Stein was in fact the first director of the Carter Center (1983-1986.)

Professor Stein is apparently terminating his association with the Carter Center, solely as a result of Carter's new book, Palestine: Peace, Not Apartheid. The reaction of Professor Stein -- a formerly close associate and collaborator of Carter -- to Carter's new book is, as our reader thought it would be, of great interest to us:

This note is to inform you that yesterday, I sent letters to President Jimmy Carter, Emory University President Jim Wagner, and Dr. John Hardman, Executive Director of the Carter Center resigning my position, effectively immediately, as Middle East Fellow of the Carter Center of Emory University. This ends my 23 year association with an institution that in some small way I helped shape and develop. My joint academic position in Emory College in the History and Political Science Departments, and, as Director of the Emory Institute for the Study of Modern Israel remains unchanged.

Many still believe that I have an active association with the Center and, act as an adviser to President Carter, neither is the case. President Carter has intermittently continued to come to the Arab-Israeli Conflict class I teach in Emory College. He gives undergraduate students a fine first hand recollection of the Begin-Sadat negotiations of the late 1970s. Since I left the Center physically thirteen years ago, the Middle East program of the Center has waned as has my status as a Carter Center Fellow. For the record, I had nothing to do with the research, preparation, writing, or review of President Carter's recent publication. Any material which he used from the book we did together in 1984, The Blood of Abraham, he used unilaterally.

President Carter's book on the Middle East, a title too inflammatory to even print, is not based on unvarnished analyses; it is replete with factual errors, copied materials not cited, superficialities, glaring omissions, and simply invented segments. Aside from the one-sided nature of the book, meant to provoke, there are recollections cited from meetings where I was the third person in the room, and my notes of those meetings show little similarity to points claimed in the book. Being a former President does not give one a unique privilege to invent information or to unpack it with cuts, deftly slanted to provide a particular outlook. Having little access to Arabic and Hebrew sources, I believe, clearly handicapped his understanding and analyses of how history has unfolded over the last decade. Falsehoods, if repeated often enough become meta-truths, and they then can become the erroneous baseline for shaping and reinforcing attitudes and for policy-making. The history and interpretation of the Arab-Israeli conflict is already drowning in half-truths, suppositions, and self-serving myths; more are not necessary. In due course, I shall detail these points and reflect on their origins.

The decade I spent at the Carter Center (1983-1993) as the first permanent Executive Director and as the first Fellow were intellectually enriching for Emory as an institution, the general public, the interns who learned with us, and for me professionally. Setting standards for rigorous interchange and careful analyses spilled out to the other programs that shaped the Center's early years. There was mutual respect for all views; we carefully avoided polemics or special pleading. This book does not hold to those standards. My continued association with the Center leaves the impression that I am sanctioning a series of egregious errors and polemical conclusions which appeared in President Carter's book. I can not allow that impression to stand.

Through Emory College, I have continued my professional commitment to inform students and the general public about the history and politics of Israel, the Middle East, and American policies toward the region. I have tried to remain true to a life-time devotion to scholarly excellence based upon unvarnished analyses and intellectual integrity. I hold fast to the notion that academic settings and those in positions of influence must teach and not preach. Through Emory College, in public lectures, and in OPED writings, I have adhered to the strong belief that history must presented in context, and understood the way it was, not the way we wish it to be.

In closing, let me thank you for your friendship, past and continuing support for ISMI, and to Emory College. Let me also wish you and your loved ones a happy holiday season, and a healthy and productive new year.

As ever,
Ken

and Israeli Studies,

Filibuster by Liberals = John Bolton's Resignation

(Reuters)Despite the support of a strong bipartisan majority of senators, Ambassador Bolton's confirmation was blocked by a Democrat filibuster, and this is a clear example of the breakdown in the Senate confirmation process," Perino said.

Bush planned to meet Bolton in the Oval Office on Monday afternoon

MINNEAPOLIS
Airport officials said Friday they will consider setting aside a private area for prayer and meditation at the request of imams concerned about the removal of six Muslim clerics from a US Airways flight last week.
Steve Wareham, director of Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, said other airports have "meditation rooms" used for prayers or by passengers who simply need quiet time.

Yes, and I'd like a smoking lounge where I can get a drink to calm my nerves while all of the imams finish their prayers and then board my plane.

PLEASE, CAN'T PEOPLE QUIETLY PRAY TO THEMSELVES....I DON'T THINK ANYONE HAS EVER NOTICED ME PRAYING IN MY SEAT BEFORE THE PLANE TAKES OFF.....BUT I DO IT.
